To all students
TUAT COVID-19 Response Headquarter
TUAT Measures in Response to Lifting of State of Emergency and Placing of Quasi-Emergency State, etc. for COVID-19 in Tokyo, etc.
?The Japanese government has decided to lift the "State of Emergency in Response to the Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19)" currently in place for Tokyo (the state of emergency is set to expire on Sunday, June 20), and apply quasi-emergency measures to Tokyo in response to COVID-19 from Monday, June 21 to Sunday, July 11. The speed of COVID-19 spread has slowed down a bit recently; however, it has been pointed out that it is quite possible that it can widely spread again in the future. For this reason, we ask all students to continue to cooperate in preventing the virus spread by raising awareness on “protecting yourself from infection and preventing infection transmission to others” and by paying attention to the following points. Risks for virus transmission still exist even in areas that are not placed under the quasi-emergency state. Please cooperate in preventing the virus spread the same way as mentioned above even if you reside outside the applicable areas.
- At each campus, infection prevention measures are taken and we are working to create a safe environment for study and research, where the students and researchers can pursue their study and research without much concern about the infection transmission, etc. Please cooperate in wearing masks, cleaning your hands and disinfecting your desks with alcohol, etc.
- We are currently discussing implementation of group vaccination for TUAT students and staff. However, if you have other opportunities to get vaccinated earlier than this by vaccination offered by the local government of your residential area or large-scale vaccination offered by the national government, please make use of them.
- As we will be frequently posting up-to-date information on how the lectures or events, etc. will be held at TUAT, please check the Google Classroom, Web Bulletin Board for students and TUAT website, etc.
- Laboratory activities can be carried out after thorough infection prevention measures are taken. However, please ensure to follow the policies of the Faculty/Graduate School you belong to.
- Take actions in your daily life to prevent the virus spread such as by taking care of your physical condition, hand washing and wearing masks. If you feel unwell, please consult a doctor, etc., and do not attend university nor go outside the house/residence.
- Keep social distancing and refrain from talking without a mask in various situations such as attending lectures, travelling around the campuses, having lunch and waiting for your next lecture.
- Please refrain from going out unless absolutely necessary and cooperate in preventing the spread of the virus. In particular, refrain from travelling across prefectures.
- About extra-curricular activities, please comply with “bet36体育在线_bet36体育投注-官网网站@の感染状況を踏まえた学生生活について” (Student life considering the COVID-19 Spread) dated June 18, 2021 and “緊急事態宣言の解除に伴うサークル活動の再開について” (Resuming of extra-curricular activities due to lifting of the state of emergency) dated June 18, 2021.
- Please take great care and attention not to contract the virus from off-campus activities (including part-time jobs and volunteer activities).
- Refrain from gathering to eat or drink with others regardless of whether they belong to TUAT or not; OR whether it is in a restaurant or in someone’s private house/residence, etc. In addition, please refrain from social gatherings that accompany eating or drinking at events or meetings.
- Please try to refrain from going on business trips even inside Japan unless absolutely necessary. If the trip is deemed to be absolutely necessary, please take the COVID-19 situation of your business trip destination into consideration and proceed with the trip.
- In general, students’ overseas trips (business trips, etc.) requested by a university will not be approved. However, there is a possibility that it may be permitted according to the notification of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan dated June 15, 2021, with the following condition. If the trip is a one-year overseas dispatch (with actual staying period of 9 months or longer in a foreign country) to participate in a study abroad program based on an inter-university cooperation agreement, etc., and the dispatch will be from or after August 2021. Please contact the Student Support Office, etc. of the Faculty or Graduate School you belong to well in advance of planning the trip.
- If you are confirmed with COVID-19, taken a PCR test or identified as a Close Contact to a COVID-19 positive individual, immediately report it to the University.
- Please pay close attention to the information and guidelines from the national and local governments and act according to the information, etc. provided by them.
- We will make a new announcement if there is any change to the current status such as the government re-declares the state of emergency.
- If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Student Support Office, etc. of the Faculty or Graduate School you belong to.
