Characteristics of Department of Applied Chemistry
Understanding the structure and function of substances around us and creating new substances and materials
Introduction to Department of Applied Chemistry
Chemistry is a research field that understands the structure and function of substances that exist around us and creates new substances. In Department of Applied Chemistry, the structure and function of chemical substances on a wide range of scales, from atoms to polymers, are the subject of lectures, experiments, and research. From basic subjects such as organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry, and polymer chemistry, to applied subjects such as semiconductor chemistry, energy chemistry, catalytic chemistry, organic industrial chemistry, and biomaterials chemistry, the curriculum allows students to steadily learn subjects related to chemistry and materials science. Each year from the first to third years has a well-balanced arrangement of experimental subjects, and students acquire the ability to formulate and verify hypotheses, understand and interpret phenomena. During graduation research, a system is in place that allows students to receive research guidance in cutting-edge areas of chemistry. By learning chemistry and materials science from the basics to applications in this way, students will acquire the originality, application skills, and research and development skills to be active in various fields of chemistry and materials science, and in the boundary and fusion fields of chemistry and medicine, etc.
Educational goals Chemistry is a field that involves understanding the structure and function of substances and creating new substances. This department focuses on the structure and function of chemical substances on a wide range of scales, from atoms to polymers, and aims to develop talented individuals with the creativity and applied skills to play an active role in a wide range of fields. Students will also acquire the ability to solve problems through experiments.
