Education Program for Field
-Oriented Leaders in Environmental Sectors in Asia and Africa
-The Outcome and Future Prospects of FOLENS Program-
The 5th International Symposium of Education Program for Field-Oriented Leaders in Environmental Sectors in Asia and Africa was held on Saturday November 16th, 2013 at Fuchu Campus.
The objective was reflecting 5 years until now to discuss what kind of the outcome we could get and how we could take root on TUAT the outcome of FOLENS Program for field oriented mind and skill sets required for global environmental human resources.
For the first part director of FOLENS Program reported the outcome of FOLENS Program and the future prospects then FOLENS graduate students and TUAT faculties reported the outcome of FOLENS Program.
For the second part faculties of the University of Tokyo and Yokohama National University, they have performed International Environment Leaders Training Program, introduced their approach and outcome. Then in the panel discussion faculties of TUAT, Education & Research Bases and above 2 universities discussed the future prospects and facilitator emphasized the importance of link.
In the closing remarks the faculty of TUAT asked to support FOLENS Program continuously for the future, while 41 FOLENS students, field oriented leaders, already graduated and faculties of TUAT are developing join research with E & R Base faculties and will start international cooperation activities.
Through this symposium we recognized these are very important to enforce the network between faculties of TUAT & E & R Bases and FOLENS graduated students with the mind of “Link will not die” and continue the FOLENS lectures, field practices (internship), post- field reporting seminar and agriculture and engineering assimilated seminar.
