13th and 20th December 2012: Post-Field Reporting Seminar and Case Study Workshop

Seminar schedule:

===============================================================================================

Reporting presentation of overseas field training Discussion was made; Association among various environmental issues and what should we do, based on the reporting presentation

The audiences have various major backgrounds in the FOLENS’s Post-Field Reporting Seminar and Case Study Workshop.
Therefore, the presenters are expected to speak carefully what they did, why they do, what the structural cause in the society /
community is. The audiences may not understand well if speakers use too many technical terms. The result has to be
interpreted with its significance, comparison to similar examples and how can it contribute to remediation, mitigation and
solution of environmental problems. At the same time speakers have to pay attention not to make any overestimation. These characteristics of the seminar could develop skills of the future’s “Field-Oriented Leaders of Environmental Sectors”.
I deeply remember following opinions proposed in the overall discussion. ?Mind and skill sets to (try to) observe and ability to
be insightful are important
?Environmental problems are wide variety issues and have complex structure. However, all are connected
and associated. They feed back to us.
?“Policy development” is needed.
?(Based on the above comment) we should not be silent. Transmit achievements of the survey and research.
We had election on the last Sunday. Consider carefully and never abstain, foreign students as well if they have
an overseas voting system.(HO)
